Abstract
Linear compensating techniques for available for RC-active filters are unified categorized. In particular, the active-passive counterbalancing method of external compensation for amplifier imperfections is analysed in terms of the general positive and negative-feedback single-amplifier filter. The efficacy of circuits for multiple-amplifier compensation is also discussed and various practical limitations considered together with recommendations for minimization of thermal drift.
