Abstract

Removal of the third molar is the most frequently performed surgical procedure in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Although well-known complications should be expected after removal of the third molar, uncommon complications also have been reported. In this report, an external auditory canal injury occurring immediately after extraction of the lower third molar, which resulted in ear bleeding, is presented. To our knowledge, this is the first report of external auditory canal injury following removal of a tooth in the literature.
