Abstract

The present investigation was conducted in Saurashtra region of Gujarat state. The demonstrator farmers were selected randomly from each district of Saurashtra region. The association between dependent and independent variables and the predictive ability of independent variables were measured by utilizing pre-structured and pre-tested interview schedule. Finding of this investigation revealed that independent variables like education, annual income, size of land holding, social participation, extension participation, risk preference, irrigation potentiality, extent of adoption and yield level of the demonstrator respondents had positive and highly significant correlated with knowledge level and age variable showed non-significant relationship with knowledge level. Same trend observed in case of extent of adoption and yield level of respondents. The non-significant effect was observed on knowledge level through different independent variables like age, annual income, extension participation, size of land holding, risk preference, irrigation potentiality, extent of adoption and yield level, while positive and highly significant effect was observed in case of education and social participation. The non-significant effect was observed on extent of adoption through different independent variable like age, education, social participation, extension participation, size of land holding, risk preference, irrigation potentiality, knowledge level and yield level. While positive and highly significant effect was observed in case of annual income. The non-significant effect was observed on extent of adoption through different independent variable like age, education, social participation, extension participation, size of land holding, risk preference, irrigation potentiality, knowledge level and yield level.
