Abstract

This study is the result of a thesis linked to the research line “Educational Psychology: Training Processes and Human Development”, of the postgraduate program in education, from the Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences of the São Paulo’s State University “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” (UNESP), Campus of Marília/SP. The subject relatesto the university extension as a possibility of continuing elementary school teachers training in the public system. This is a qualitative research, of an applied nature, descriptive character, and case study design. The methodological procedures adopted for the collection of data were as follows: quiz, observation and interview. The general objective that this research sought was to undertake a university extension course in the form of a training for teachers, aiming to provide an opportunity for study and reflection on children’s moral development in the Piagetian perspective, and from the theory studied to raise reflections on the sociomoral environment provided by the school. As results, we find the blaming of the families of the students, by the teachers, about the daily problems of the institution, such as indiscipline, non-performance of curricular activities, relationships of disrespect with authority figures (adults). The training performed found relative resistance on the part of the teachers, not because one theory was privileged to the detriment of another, but because it was pointed out that blaming the families 135Colloquium Humanarum, Presidente Prudente, v. 15, n. 4, p.134-141out/dez 2018.
