Abstract

In signal processing, wavelet transform is used mainly for compression purposes and fractional fourier transform has find its applications in the field of filtering operations, optics and various other fields. This paper designs new family of wavelets combining both the transformation techniques. The new wavelets are unique to a respective fractional angle. Hence new families for all the present wavelets are obtained for all fractional angles (0° to 90°). Also, each of the new wavelet is unique for a fractional angle. In short, a member of one wavelet family is defined by its fractional angle. New wavelets will use the same wavelet transform kernel as used by present wavelets. Also, they may improve the applications where present wavelets are used.
