Abstract
Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) is the process of determining the best feasible solution according to the established criteria. Practical problems are often characterized by several non-commensurable and conflicting criteria and there may be no solution satisfying all criteria simultaneously. VIKOR is an efficient method to solve this kind of MCDM problem. But in many practical situations, there usually exists incomplete and uncertain information, and the decision makers cannot easily express their judgments on the alternatives with exact and crisp values. Therefore, an extended technique for VIKOR method with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets is proposed to solve MCDM under incomplete and uncertain information environment in this paper. And the feasibility and practicability of the extended VIKOR method are further manifested through a numerical example. The results also show that this extended VIKOR method with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets is more flexible and suitable to cope with MCDM under incomplete and uncertain information environment than extended TOPSIS method with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers.
