Abstract

This paper gives the results of the experimental investigation of the blowing in the vaneless diffuser used for the centrifugal compressor stage. The investigation was carried out using the aerodynamic test bench of the PJSC “Frunze Scientific and Industrial Agglomeration”. The blowing was performed in the radial direction; the inflated air was supplied by the external source. The experimental investigation allowed us to determine the influence of the flow rate of the inflated air on the boundary of the surge occurrence and on the dimensionless characteristics of the stage. It has been proved that the blowing in the vaneless diffuser allows us to extent the range of the stable operation of the stage in the domain of low efficiencies.
