Abstract

A D'Arsonval mechanism is terminated with a negative-input-resistance amplifier which nearly cancels the effect of the resistance of its windings and extends its low-frequency response as an inertial angular sensor. The behaviour is essentially identical to that of a force-balanced angular accelerometer in series with a high-pass filter with a break frequency typically below 0.1 Hz.
