Extension of the direct statistical approach to a volume parameter model (non-integer splitting)

Abstract

The Direct Statistical Approach (DSA), developed by Dubi on a surface parameter model, has been extended to a volume parameter model (involving non-integer “expected value” splitting), and then to a cell model. The cell model gives second moment and time functions that have a closed form. This suggests the possibility of two different methods of solution of the optimum splitting/Russian Roulette parameters.
