Abstract
Shariat M.H., Dehghany F. and Moshfeghian M., 1993. Extension and evaluation of the chain-of-rotator group contribution equation of state for prediction of thermodynamic properties of polar and non-polar compounds. Fluid Phase Equilibria, 85: 19-40. In this paper, the parameters for the chain-of-rotator group contribution ( CORGC) equation of state, which were recently reported by Pults et al. (Pults J.D., Greenkorn R.A. and Chao K.C., 1989. Chem. Eng. Sci., 44 (II): 2553-2564), have been revised. In addition, the ability of this equation to predict PVT properties of polar compounds and refrigerants is evaluated. For this reason parameters of the CORGC equation of state for these kinds of groups were obtained. Its ability to handle vapour-liquid equilibria calculations was also tested. The interaction parameters for unlike pairs of groups have also been determined. Comparisons between the predicted results and the experimental data for several pure fluids and their mixtures are presented. The accuracy and capability of CORGC with these new sets of parameters are also compared with other widely used equations of state.
