Abstract

The patient is an 18 yr old male with Goldenhar syndrome. Goldenhar syndrome is a developmental disorder that is believed to have genetic and environmental factors. Goldenhar syndrome, often referred to as Oculo-Auriculo-vertebral (OAV) syndrome or hemifacial microsomia, is associated with incomplete development of the facial structures usually on one side of the body. Patients will usually require combined orthodontic and orthognathic surgery to manage the resultant facial asymmetry.
