Abstract

Abstract We calculate the effect of normal impurities on the critical temperature and specific heat jump for a superconductor with a two component order parameter. Interchannel coupling is considered between pure isotropic (PI) and pure anisotropic (PA) order parameters. It is found that the reduction of Tc with impurity displays a positive curvature and that the specific heat jump can show complex behaviour. In one case, it is found to be reduced over Abrikosov-Gor'kov law as is observed in some experiments in heavy Fermion systems.
