Abstract

A completely relativistic model for mesons as extended hadrons having the appearance of bound quark-antiquark pairs is presented. The mesons are realized as states in a Fock space with a corresponding quantized field. The field contains a mass spectrum with a linear Chew-Frautschi plot, in good agreement with experiments. A conserved current is constructed for this field and the intrinsic electromagnetic form factor is computed and found to agree with established results. A model «φ3 » interaction is considered, and it is shown how to construct a unitaryS-matrix in a perturbation sense.
