Abstract

An extended Maxwell Garnett (EMG) model for particulate chiral-in-chiral composites is developed. Volume integral equations and two computationally tractable algorithms for scattering by a chiral inclusion embedded in a chiral host are obtained. These equations are then used to develop the EMG model. Analytic expressions are obtained for the effective-medium parameters in the case of spherical inclusions. Three reductions of the chiral-in-chiral composite are also given.
