Abstract

Exsolution is a promising approach for enhancing the catalytic performance of perovskite materials and has attracted significant attention in recent years. In this study, we demonstrate the preparation of La1.9Co0.1Ti1.9O7-δ through a simple exsolution method and evaluate its efficacy as an electrocatalyst for the OER/ORR reaction. Our experimental results indicate that the electrocatalytic activity of the cobalt-decorated catalyst is several times higher than that of the pristine La2Ti2O7. Moreover, the exsolved sample exhibits excellent stability during testing. In-depth characterization has revealed that the remarkable enhancement in activity is related to several factors, including a large surface area, low electrochemical impedance, and enhanced reaction kinetics. These findings suggest that nanoparticle exsolution is a highly promising strategy for the development of high-performance electrocatalysts.
