Abstract

Objective To discuss the effect of high intraocular pressure to comea after negative pressure suction through the change of corneal topographic map at transiently elevated intraocular pressure of excimer laser operation negative pressure suction. Methods Forty-eight New Zealand big white rabbits(96 eyes)were selected and divided into 2 groups randomly for corneal topographic map examination after ketamine anesthesia.Negative pressure suction 30 seconds in the first group, and 60 seconds in the other group. For corneal topographic map examination at the times of immediate,4 hours,1 day,1 week after negative suction. The results were recorded and statistical analyzed. Results The height and curvature increased at the front and rear surfaces of corneal, corneal central thickened, and diameter enlarged at the times of immediate and 4 hours after suction in the two groups. The corneal topographic map returned to normal at the time of 1 day after suction. There weren't obvious changes at the comeal topographic map at the time of 1 week after suction. Conclusions The transient high intraocular pressure after LASIK negative pressure suction lead to comeal prognathism, curvature increase, corneal central thicken, and diameter enlarge. But the changes are reversible, and return to normal at 1 day after suction. Key words: Negative pressure suction; Cornea; Corneal topographic map
