Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between MMP-2,TIMP-2 expression and invasion, metastasis of ovarian serous tumors. Methods The expressions of MMP-2 protein and TIMP-2 protein in 45 cages with ovarian serous tumors were detected quantitatively by flow cytometry(FCM).Results Expression of MMP-2 protein and TIMP-2 protein in ovarian serous carcinomas Was significantly more than that in ovarian serous cystadenomas (P<0.05). Expressions of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 were correlated with histological grade and clinical stage (P<0.05).Conclusion The high level of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 may be linked with ovarian serous tumor invasion and metastasis. The expression of MMP-2 protein is significantly correlated with that of TIMP-2.The expressions of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 may be a indication of invasion and metastasis and a strong predictor of poor survival.
