Abstract

Introduction: Flowcytometry on cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) lymphocytes offers the opportunity to study immune regulation in the nervous system by assessing the expression of cell surface markers involved in T-cell activation. Early T-cell activation involves the expression of the IL-2 receptor subunit alpha (CD25), whereas HLA-DR and CD38 are late activation antigens.
