Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of RASSF1A gene in human lung carcinoma. Methods The samples were obtained from 56 cases of lung carcinoma. By using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), the expression of RASSF1A mRNA was detected in 56 samples and adjacent non-cancerous tissues. Results RASSF1A mRNA was detected in 67. 85% of human lung carcinomas and 32. 14% of adjacent cancerous tissues ( P < 0. 05 ). Conclusion In advance lung carcinoma, the expression of RASSF1A might be inactivated. RASSF1 A gene inactivation can be used as a potential marker in the early diagnosis and prognosis of lung carcinoma. Key words: Lung carcinoma; RASSF1A; Gene expression
