Abstract

Protein kinase CK2 is a heterodimer composed of two catalytic subunits (α or α′ subunit) and two regulatory β subunits, which plays a significant role in the process of cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation. The overexpression and hyperactivation of protein kinase CK2 is closely related to some blood malignancies, therefore the inhibition of CK2 may provide an innovative strategy for leukemia. This article summarizes literatures on mechanism of protein kinase CK2 in leukemia and its significance. Key words: Casein kinase Ⅱ; Leukemia; Molecular targeted therapy
