Abstract

Objective To analyze the expression of programmed death ligand-1/programmed death-1(PD-L1/PD-1) in peripheral blood CD8+ T lymphocytes in elderly patients with gastric cancer and explore its clinical significance. Methods 90 elderly patients with gastric cancer (with different clinical stages) and 90 elderly health examination were selected in the same period.The expression of PD-L1/PD-1 on the surface of peripheral blood CD8+ T lymphocytes was detected by flow cytometry.The expression of PD-L1/PD-1 in different stages of gastric cancer was analyzed by the clinical staging of patients with gastric cancer. Results The expression of PD-L1/PD-1 in peripheral blood CD8+ T lymphocytes of patients with gastric cancer was significantly higher than that in elderly healthy person (t=7.043, P<0.05). The positive expression of PD-L1/PD-1 in peripheral blood CD8+ T lymphocytes increased in advanced stage (r=0.883, P<0.05); The positive expression of PD-1 in peripheral blood CD8+ T lymphocytes increased with the clinical stage, there was a positive correlation between the two(r=0.811, P<0.05); The expression of PD-L1/PD-1 in peripheral blood CD8+ T lymphocytes was significantly higher than that of other relatively early clinical stages (t=4.377, P<0.05). Conclusion PD-L1/PD-1 signaling pathway plays an important role in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer in elderly patients.The expression of PD-L1/PD-1 in peripheral blood CD8+ T lymphocytes has a guiding role in judging the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer.
