Expression of p16 protein and cyclinD_1 protein in transitional cell carcinoma(TCC) of urinary bladder and their implications

Abstract

Objective To explore the expression of p16 protein and cyclinD1 protein in the TCC of urinary bladder and their relations to the clinical stages ,pathological grades and prognosis. Methods S-P immu- nochemical method was used to detect p16 and cyclinD1 proteins expression in 59 cases with the TCC of uri- nary bladder. Results Positive rate of p16 was 42. 4% , with the progress of the tumor of grade and stage, the positive rate of p16 protein decreased. Positive rate of cyclinD1 was 61%, with the progress of the tumor stage, the positive rate of cyclinD1 protein increased; expression of p16 protein was reversely corre- lated with cyclinDt protein; there were significant difference between positive and negative cases of p16 and eyclinD1in recurrence and 3-years survival rate. Conclusion The detection of p16 and cyclinD1 protein could be used as the markers of diagnosis and prognosis of the TCC of urinary bladder.
