Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of micmRNA (miR)-433 in gastric carcinoma and the clinical significance. Methods Eighty pairs of human gastric carcinoma tissue samples were obtained from patients who underwent surgical resection. The level of miR-433 in 80 caes of gastric carcinomas and the paired adjacent normal tissues was quantified by real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR),and the relationship between miR-433 and clinicopathological features in gastric carcinoma was analyzed. Results The expression of miR-433 in gastric carcinoma tissue (△Ct:9.73 ±2.96) was significantly decreased as compared with the paired adjacent normal tissues (△Ct:12.25 ±2.07) (P < 0.05).The evaluated level of miR-433 was associated with TNM classification, tumor size, lymph node metastases and local invasion in gastric carcinoma, but not with sex, age, and differentiation. Conclusion These finding suggested miR0433 may play important roles in the development, progression, invasion and metastasis of gastric carcnima. Key words: MicmRNA-433 ; Gastric carcinoma
