Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of Gadd45β and hMLH1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its clinical significance. Methods Expression of Gadd45β and hMLH1 was detected by immunohistochemical method in HCC and normal liver tissues. Results The positive rate of Gadd45β in HCC and normal liver tissues were 24% and 90% ;the positive rate of hMLH1 in HCC and normal liver tissues were 42% and 80%. The expression of Gadd45β and hMLH1 were positive correlated, their expression were related to tumor differentiation, tumor thrombus of portal vein and clinical stage. Conclusions The role of Gadd45β and hMLH1 in the development of HCC are exceptional inhibition. Gadd45β and hMLH1 maybe be involved in the development of HCC and have some clinical significance in HCC prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Key words: Hepatocellular carcinoma; Gadd45β; Mismatch repair gene; hMLH1
