Expression of Concern: Leukotriene D4 activates MAPK through a Ras-independent but PKCε-dependent pathway in intestinal epithelial cells.

Abstract

There are potential issues in J. Cell Sci. (2002) 115, 1883–1893 (doi:10.1242/jcs.115.9.1883).A possible duplication of the LTD4+PP1 and LTD4+ PD98059 bands in Fig 5E was highlighted to us via the PubPeer website. Owing to the period of time that has passed since the experiments were conducted, the authors have not been able to provide original data for this blot. They have conducted analyses which they feel show the two blots to be different; however, without the original data, it is difficult to conclude if the bands are duplicated, so the journal is publishing this Expression of Concern to alert readers to this issue.
