The expression of concern has been agreed following concerns raised by a third party regarding the authenticity of the authorship. Further investigation by the publisher has found that the authors' identities could not be verified. Attempts to contact the authors were unsuccessful. Additionally, the investigators were unable to confirm whether appropriate peer review took place due to a lack of editorial office records. As a result, the parties are unable to investigate further the validity of the peer review process nor to confirm authorship. The journal is issuing this Expression of Concern to alert readers.
