Abstract

Objectives To observe the influence on expression of angiotensin receptors by applying ARB. To discuss the relationship between angiotensin receptors and pathological damage. Methods A total of 172 patients diagnosed with Immunoglobulin A nephrology(IgAN) by renal biopsy were enrolled in our research. The renal pathological damage of IgAN was analyzed by Lee classification system. The expression of angiotensin receptors of AT1, AT2 and MAS was evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Protein expression on renal tissue of AT1, AT2 and MAS receptors were evaluated. The expression quantity of the angiotensin receptors after applying ARB with those who didn’t apply was compared. Protein expression on renal tissue of AT1, AT2 and MAS receptors and their relationship with pathological injury were evaluated. Results In IgAN of grade Ⅲ, expression quantity of AT1 receptor in renal vessel of the patients who applied ARB more than 30 days was significantly less than those who did not apply, and expression quantity of AT2 receptor in glomerular of the patients who applied ARB more than 30 days was significantly more than those who did not apply. Expression quantity of AT1 receptor in renal vascular and tubulointerstitial showed significant positive correlation with Lee Classification. Expression quantity of AT2 receptor in Glomerular of grade Ⅴ was significantly stronger than grade Ⅰ-Ⅳ. Conclusions Applying ARB has an impact on the expression of renal angiotensin receptors AT1 and AT2 in IgAN patients. Renal angiotensin receptors AT1 and AT2 expression is ass-ociated with pathologic injury in IgAN patients. Key words: Receptors, Angiotensin; Glomerulonephritis, IGA
