Abstract

Objective To analyze the expression difference and significance of glucocorticoid receptor gene (NR3C1) in renal clear cell carcinoma. Methods The Oncomine database was used to retrieve and screen out the information of NR3C1, so as to obtain the expressions of NR3C1 in ccRCC and normal kidney tissues. The GEPIA database was used to analyze the relationship between the expression of NR3C1 and the survival rate of ccRCC patients in TCGA data. Protein interaction on one hand and upstream and downstream regulation of NR3C1 gene on the other hand were analyzed by the String database. Results The NR3C1 expression in ccRCC tissue was statistically different from that in normal renal tissue (P<0.05). The overall survival rate of the patients with a high NR3C1 expression was significantly higher than that of ones with a low NR3C1 expression (P<0.05). NR3C1 interacted with NCOA1, NCOA2, NOCRO1, HSP90AA1, FKBP5, and other proteins, and participates in inflammatory response, as well as in cell proliferation and differentiation and other biological processes. Conclusion NR3C1 is highly expressed in ccRCC and is related to the prognosis of ccRCC, so it can be used as a potential target for diagnosis and treatment. Key words: Renal clear cell carcinoma; ccRCC; Glucocorticoid receptor gene; NR3C1; Data mining; Oncomine
