Abstract

Objective To explore the expression and significance of SFRP1 and Wnt-1 in cervical squamous cell carcinoma. Methods SFRP1 and Wnt-1 were detected by immunohistochemistry(SP) in 20 cases of normal cervical squamous epithelium,30 cases of CINⅠ,40 cases of CINⅡ/Ⅲ and 50 cases of cervical squamous cell carcinoma.Results(1)In normal cervical squamous epithelium,CINⅠ,CINⅡ/Ⅲ and cervical squamous cell carcinoma, the positive expression rate of SFRP1 were 100%,73.5%,67.5% and 34% respectively. The positive expression rate of Wnt-1 were 25%,60%,82.5% and 98% respectively. There was significantly different among four groups(P0.05).(2)There was no correlation between SFRP1 and Wnt-1 in cervical squamous cell carcinoma.(3)In cervical squamous cell carcinoma group, there was no significant difference for SFRP1 and Wnt-1 expression in different age patient groups, and there was no difference among different tumor size, and clinical stages. However, there was significant difference among different pathological grades(P0.05).Conclusion SFRP1 and Wnt-1 were related to the process of cancerating of cervical squamous epithelium, which maybe play important roles in the development from cervical intraepithelium neoplasis to invasive cervical squamous cell carcinoma.
