Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of platelet-activating factor(PAF)gene in human hepatocellular carcinoma(hHCC).Methods The samples were obtained from 10 cases of hHCC specimens.Immunohistochemistry and semi-quantitative RT-PCR techniques were used for detecting the PAF positive-staining and PAF receptor mRNA expression in 10 samples and adjacent noncanerous tissues.Results PAF pesitive-staining and PAF receptor mRNA were detected in 90% of hHCC samples and 20% adjacent noncanerous tissues respectively(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The PAF expression is increased in middle-advance hHCC,which may play a role in the pathogenesis of hHCC.
