Abstract
Objective To detect the expression of metastasis-associated proteins in bladder cancer cells RT4 and 253J and explore the molecular mechanisms of malignant transition of bladder cancer. Methods The expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin in RT4 and 253J cells was detected by Western blotting.Millicell polycarbonate filter was used to analyze the invasive potency of RT4 and 253J cells. Results E-cadherin was detected with high expression in RT4 cells, whereas a very low expression in 253J cells:Vimentin was not detected in RT4 cells, but a high expression in 253J cells. Conclusion There was remarkable difference in the expressions of E-cadherin and Vimentin in RT4 and 253J cells, and there was different invasion characteristic in these two cell liness. E-cadherin and Vimentin play a key role in the malignant transition of bladder tumor. Key words: Bladder cancer; E-cadherin; Vimentin; Invasion
