Abstract
Objective To explore the expression and significance of aquaporin 9 (AQP-9) in the brain tissues of mice with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).Methods The mouse HIE models were prepared under hypoxia (37,8％ oxygen concentration).Immunohistochemistry and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) were adopted to detect the expression of AQP-9 protein and mRNA respectively.Results The expression of AQP-9 protein [peak level:(26.745 ± 2.875) ％] and mRNA (peak value:1.8223 ± 0.1468) in model group at each every time point was higher than in control group.Simultaneously,there was a positive correlation between AQP-9 protein and mRNA expression (r =0.811,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion AQP-9 might play roles in formation and development of HIE of mice.
