Abstract

Industrial sociologists and psychologists have long known that may bear a rather strong relationship to productivity and morale. A parallel may be drawn between factory workers and college students in that working conditions for the students include such items as housing and, more generally, the atmosphere of the college community of which they are members. If certain ethnic groups are the object of prejudice and discrimination, their lives as students may be profoundly and adversely affected. This research was stimulated by a general interest in the problem of prejudice and discrimination against certain groups of students and, more specifically, by the peculiar form they may take on occasion.
