Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of implantation of Ex-PRESS glaucoma drainage device implantation combined with adjustable suture in the treatment of refractory glaucoma. Methods The data of 39 eyes of 39 cases with refractory glaucoma were analyzed retrospectively, and all cases received Ex-PRESS glaucoma drainage device implantation combined with adjustable suture. Results At 6 months after operation, BCVA was improved in 12 eyes, unchanged in 24 eyes and decreased in 3 eyes. The preoperative mean intraocular pressure was (47.49 ±10.16) mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa). The mean intraocular pressure at 1 day, 1 week, 1, 3 and 6 months after operation were (15.00±5.28)mmHg, (15.64±3.49) mmHg, (16.28±3.03) mmHg, (17.03±2.79) mmHg and (20.08±6.01) mmHg. The intraocular pressure at each period after operation were lower than that before operation, and the difference were statistically significant (all P=0.000). Conclusion Ex-PRESS glaucoma drainage device implantation combined with adjustable suture is a safe and effective for refractory glaucoma.
