Abstract

A randomized clinical trial involving youths ages 6 to 18 who received an antipsychotic for symptoms of aggression has found that antipsychotic exposure was associated with adverse changes in body fat and insulin sensitivity. These findings raise concern because these factors are known contributors to early‐onset type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
