Abstract

1. From data on the chemical analysis, of ores and concentrates and the values of the constants βmin and τ for nonmetalliferous minerals the authors have determined the exposure of the minerals being extracted in the original crushed ore and have calculted the content of metal (element) in their concretions extracted into a like concentrate in the beneficiation of magnetite, titanomagnetite, and pyrite copper and copper—zinc ores from the Urals. 2. They show that in all the cases investigated, the metal (element) content of the concretions of the main mineral extracted into the like concentrate is equal to the content of the extracted metal (elment) in the original ore. 3. Theoretically derived and experimentally verified expressions for the exposure of minerals in the original crushed ore and the contents of the metals (elements) in concretions extracted into like concentrates are recommended as reliable experimental data for wide practical use for organizing systematic industrial control of the processes of exposure and separation of minerals in beneficiation plants for ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy and in theoretical and experimental research into the beneficiation of minerals.
