Export markets of Russian shipbuilding

Abstract

Subject. I consider export capacity-building of civil shipbuilding products. Objectives. The focus is on the analysis of the current state of the Russian shipbuilding industry and consumer qualities of its production, exploration of current and future needs of potential foreign customers of civil shipbuilding products. Methods. The study rests on general scientific methods of research. Results. Products having high export capacity include liquid and dry cargo vessels of inland and mixed navigation, icebreakers, vessels for development of offshore oil and gas fields, high-speed hydrofoils and hovercraft, and floating power units. Conclusions. Products of civil shipbuilding are the main ones from the perspective of export growth. They are associated with cost-effective implementation of orders in large-scale manufacturing.
