Abstract

In this paper, we study the existence of exponential attractors for the weakly damped wave equation utt+γut−Δu+f(u)=g in a bounded smooth domain of R3. Based on the recent extension of the Strichartz estimate for the case of a bounded domain, we establish an exponential attractor in a natural energy space for the case of sub-quintic nonlinearity. The results obtained essentially improve and complete some previous works.
