Abstract

Translation, as a means of cross-cultural communication, helps ancient classical Chinese poetry with abundant cultural connotations to enter the world. Scholar Lin Jiaxin’s latest work “Translating Classical Chinese Poetry into World Literature: Burton Watson’s Translation as a Case” expresses readers with the specific process. This book has an innovative perspective, presenting readers with an interactive mechanism between national literature and world literature through both macro and micro perspectives. It promotes the construction of a theoretical framework for literary translation from the perspective of world literature, promotes the study of translators, and provides a valuable cultural promotion model for cultural translation activities. It is a rare academic literature and cultural book. This review aims to explore the cosmopolitan culture and local identity of poetry translation by reviewing the latest work of scholar Lin Jiaxin.
