Abstract

The paper aims to debate the stumbling blocks lying along the success of CHBC programs in a score of countries from the developing world in their quest to reduce or mitigate the impacts of HIV/AIDS and to impact the conditions of patients under the CHBC programs. The paper depends on a wide range of data sources and has picked the following challenges associated with CHBC programs: lack of funds to sustain the programs, inadequate government support, inadequate care knowledge, stigma and discrimination and donor fatigue. These academics suggest the following recommendations as an approach to reinforce and bolster the services for CHBC programs: training caregivers and availing sufficient funding for CHBC programs, enriched human and material resources for CHBC programs, reinforcing the importance of CHBC programs in communities, and building a strong partnership with other organizations and the community.
