Abstract
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a prevalent and debilitating chronic condition, affecting approximately 1–2% of the population. It is characterized by systemic inflammation and primarily targets the flexible, synovial joints, leading to symptoms such as joint swelling, stiffness, pain, and reduced functionality. Aim/Objective: This review aims to explore the role of homeopathic interventions in the management of RA, focusing on the potential benefits of homeopathic consultations in improving patient outcomes and well-being. Specifically, the objective is to investigate how homeopathy, as a holistic approach to healthcare, addresses the multifaceted nature of RA and its impact on patients' lives. Methodology : A comprehensive search of electronic databases including PubMed, SCOPUS, and Google Scholar was conducted to identify relevant literature on homeopathic treatments for RA. Keywords such as 'Rheumatoid arthritis,' 'Homeopathy,' and related terms were utilized. Result: The initial database search yielded a substantial number of records, from which relevant studies were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria. After screening for duplicates and applying exclusion criteria, a total of 13 studies were included in the review. These studies encompassed RCT, Observational studies, randomized open-label interventional Study, In Vitro studies and clinical trials, providing insights into the potential benefits of homeopathy in RA management. Conclusion: Homeopathy shows promise as an adjunctive therapy for RA, considering the holistic nature of the disease.
