Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to explore the contributing organizational factors of IT implementation effectiveness. IT implementation means the actual activities that necessary to undertaken after the organization has adopted the IT innovation. Up to now, the research has tended to focus on post-adoption stage rather than on adoption stage. There are a number of important differences between adoption and post-adoption stage of IT innovation diffusion. Past studies the IT innovation implementation literature indicated that contributing factor of IT implementation effectiveness consist of three factors that are the individual factor, managerial factor, and organizational factors. There is some evidence that organizational factor may affect IT implementation effectiveness. This study focus on the organizational factor of IT innovation diffusion process. Actually, many organizations have spent a lot of money to invest in IT innovation and development. However, the process of IT implementation faced many problems such as lack of commitment from the organizational members to use IT innovation, underutilization of the system or unused IT innovation even it has been completely facilitated. A possible explanation for these results may be the lack of adequate exploration of the organizational factors such as human resources availability, implementation climate, implementation policies and practices, and top management support. The use of this organizational factor may be linked to behavior problems in IT implementation. To overcome the actual problem mentioned above, this study tries to give a conceptual approach on how to effective IT implementation through exploring the organizational factor. Therefore, this study will be very helpful for organizational management in order to overcome the problems encountered so as to improve the performance of the institutions to become more competitive. The finding of this study may usefulness for management level in its organization.
