Abstract

The author describes his concept of 'The Found' as activity involving communications and defines terms such as 'found person', 'found photo' and 'found space'. He further develops the idea of The Found by exploring the reverse (or 'to-be found') activities of designing or re-using space, acting out roles and planting objects. The author, working both in mixed media (photos, sculpture, sound, video, drawings) and in architecture (defined as the organization of space for movement and communication), pursues his work both in urban settings and in deserted coastal ateas, using prehistoric tools as well as high technology.
