In today's landscape, cybersecurity reigns supreme as cybercrimes surge. Businesses are on high alert, striving to shield themselves from online threats like hacking and data breaches. Various safeguards are in place to brace for such scenarios. However, penetration testing emerges as the ultimate litmus test to gauge the efficacy of these security measures. A penetration tester must meticulously select the appropriate tools, considering factors like budget, time, and scope. This study scrutinizes the effectiveness of scanning tools within a Kali Linux environment. The overarching objective of penetration testing is to ensure networks and systems remain impervious to security threats, preventing unauthorized access to resources. This paper delves into the intricacies of planning and executing a penetration test, targeting project managers or directors contemplating such an endeavor.
