Abstract

This research delves into the impact of movies and music, on understanding. Using idiomatic expressions in English. It explores how these artistic forms not enhance language skills but foster cultural awareness and emotional connections. The study emphasizes the value of movies by depicting idioms in dialogues and diverse cultural settings. Additionally it examines how music incorporates idioms to convey emotions making them more accessible and memorable. The research findings demonstrate that a significant number of participants actively engage with these mediums leading to improved comprehension of expressions. All participants reported a grasp of idioms with the majority expressing a preference for learning through films and music. Notably 90.4% gained increased confidence in using idioms. These findings validate the effectiveness of these mediums as tools for learning idioms offering an educational experience that immerses learners, in both language acquisition and cultural nuances associated with the English language.
