Abstract

To the Editor: Granuloma annulare (GA) is a granulomatous skin condition characterized by annular erythematous plaques, diffuse papules, and subcutaneous nodules, with an annual incidence of approximately 0.04%.1 Previous studies have associated GA with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM); however, little is known about whether GA is associated with more severe T2DM and whether GA presages worsening diabetic severity or complications, which could guide recommendations for ancillary testing and follow-up.
