Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study is to illustrate how we introduced medical students to scientific training through the utilization of the Allen Brain Atlas (ABA) and how this endeavor resulted in significant scientific contributions presented at academic conferences, congresses, and published articles from 2013 to 2021.Methods: In this brief communication, we describe and analyze the papers authored by medical students from the Federal University of Pernambuco that were published in peer-reviewed journals using the ABA from 2013 to 2021 Results: ten papers at various medical conferences and events. Conclusion: We acknowledge the value of this initiative, which relies on open data resources and bioinformatics analysis, and we encourage others to explore similar opportunities for medical students to engage in research training.
