In this dynamic world, growing competition poses a threat to survival of organisations. There is growing concern among organisations to strengthen motivation of employees that help organisations to ‘best fit’ in competitive scenario. Research in domain of ‘employee motivation (EM)’ has stated the direct linkage between EM and employee productivity. This study focuses on quality of work life intervention (QWLI) in leading Indian power sector, NTPC and NHPC. The study aims to find relationship existing between QWLI and EM. Further, the study aims to find ‘work life factors'responsible in promoting qualityofwork life (QWL) ofemployees of NTPC. Work life factorsare further ranked from 1 to 13. The study was conducted using structured questionnaire with close ended questions. Questionnaire was then administered on 500 employees of NTPC and NHPC in India. A combination of primary and secondary research concepts was applied. Secondary data was collected from extensive literature review. The primary data was collected by mode of personal and focus group interview. Sample was taken from offices located in Delhi NCR. This paper is an attempt to analyse degree of correlation existing between QWL intervention and EM. Result clearly indicated the positive correlation between QWLI and EM. This implies that with change in QWL, EM also changes. Research provides us with inventory of variables; work life factors with their corresponding ranking that significantly leave impact on employee's motivation working in power sector organisations in India. This indicates that QWL intervention is powerful change management tool that significantly affect EM.
