Abstract

Polycystic Ovary Disorder (PCOD) is a disorder in women characterized by elevated levels of male hormones and infrequent or absence of ovulation. It is the leading cause of infertility in females. However, several treatments are available for treating PCOD, with varying success levels, and are associated with drug-related side effects, repetition of the problem, and is expensive. Alternative therapies attract scientists and health care promoters because of their compatibility and enhancing the yoga therapy programs, which are cost-effective and viable in primarily populated countries like India. The present study attempts to investigate the comparative merit of yoga therapy intervention with allopathy treatment in reducing hormonal imbalance and anxiety levels experienced in women with PCOD. This study was conducted on 50women participants with PCOD who have undergone treatment at a gynecological clinic, Visakhapatnam. All the fifty women participants have satisfied the Rotterdam criteria for PCOD condition. Based on their choice, the 50 participants (of age 20-35 years) have divided into two groups: the Yoga Intervention group Allopathy intervention group.
