Abstract

The topic of social justice has been a focus among many counselor educators. Although multicultural courses have been successful in fostering social justice awareness in students (Constantine, Hage, Kindaichi, & Bryant, 2007), students report a lack of practical skills in social justice activism (Collins, Arthur, Brown, & Kennedy, 2014). Infusing social justice into master’s level experiential group is a convenient and practical way to deepen students’ social justice consciousness. In this article, the authors outline specific strategies to facilitate effective discussion of privilege and oppression in experiential group via an Adlerian lens to foment students’ social justice consciousness.
